Gifts for Hunters

Gifts for Hunters

Trying to think of gifts for hunters? It’s almost Christmas and you are still trying to find that perfect gift for the hunter in your life. What do you get them? Well, as a hunter I am going to share three of the items that are always at the top of my list. From the not so expensive to a little bit higher price tag.

Pulley with Gambrel

A couple of gambrels with pulley systems in action.

What do you do with that deer once it’s on the ground? Ideally, you need to hang it for at least 7 days to age the meat. Even if you are taking it to a processor you may need to hang it before you get it there. That is why I like to have a gambrel with rope and pulley system. One of these is especially helpful if you are by yourself. My favorite is the HME 4:1 Pulley System and Gambrel. You can find this online or at just about anywhere that sells hunting goods. I have received these as gifts and purchased my own at Bomgaars.

Trail Camera

What hunter doesn’t like to do some off season scouting? Personally, I run quite a few trail cameras throughout the year. Let’s not dive into how many that is! Of course, I think I can always use more. Over the years, I’ve used many different brands and have my preferred. Most hunters don’t really care as long as it works. Probably my favorite camera overall is the Stealth Cam G34 Pro. It is a good mid price range camera with a lot of options. Any hunter would be happy to receive a trail camera as a gift.

Gun

Now this is a gift that any hunter would be excited to open on Christmas morning. On my 15th birthday I received my first deer rifle from my grandparents. It is something that I have cherished and even more so now that they have passed. Maybe it’s a family legacy gun that can be passed down from generation to generation. Or that new deer rifle they’ve been wanting. It could even be a new shotgun for chasing pheasants and waterfowl. Whatever their hunting preference you can bet this is a gift they will cherish for years to come! This is the higher dollar purchase and can range anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars.

Gifts for Hunters Can Be Anything Hunting Related

Here is the option that is topping my list for each of these areas. For the legacy gun I’ve always dreamed of a high end over and under shotgun. Caesar Guerini makes some of the most exquisite guns I have ever seen. These are high dollar but well worth the money as a legacy gun. As for a big game rifle, I’ve had my eye on the Browning X-Bolt Hell’s Canyon Long Range 7MM Rem Mag. The 7MM Rem Mag is a good gun for hunting deer and larger North American game. Not to mention the burnt bronze cerakote finish and DuraTouch Armor Coating for exceptional performance in all weather conditions.

If your hunter prefers to chase smaller feathered creatures like doves, pheasants and waterfowl or maybe even turkeys then a good shotgun would be ideal. Look no further than the Benelli Super Black Eagle III for the ultimate shotgun. Unlike many other semi-automatic shotguns it will cycle the lightest loads all the way to 3 1/2″ shells.

This is not an all encompassing list. Just a few ideas from my wish list and varying budgets. There are many gits for hunters that will have them dancing on Christmas morning. Ask any salesman/woman at your local hunting shop and they can steer you in the right direction. Have a gift idea? Share it with us in the comments.
