Chris Edwards – RAKS Staff
Chris Edwards was raised in Stratton, Nebraska. He enlisted in the United States Navy shortly out of high school. After 20 years of faithful service Chris decided to retire. Overall, he performed a wide array of job assignments while in the Navy. From Military Police with K-9 background to Expeditionary Security Forces. Additionally, he held positions of Enlisted Recruiter, Medical Officer Programs Recruiter, and Trainer. Chris is President of Big Game Conservation Association and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nebraska Sportsmen’s Foundation. Furthermore, he is a member of multiple organizations. Not only hunting organizations but Veterans organizations as well.
A Passion for the Outdoors
His passion for the outdoors led him to start his own business, Big Red Outdoors, in October 2009. Moreover it has grown to over 60 members with 8,000 acres of private hunting ground leased in Nebraska. Additionally, Big Red Outdoors is actually the catalyst for driving Chris to the conservation arena. Not only did he want to learn more about improving the habitat on his leased properties but preserve our hunting heritage for his son. As a matter of fact, big game herd management also led him to use RAKS™ Big Game Supplements. And in June 2013 he purchased the company. Consequently, his years in the military have given him an unparalleled work ethic. Coupled with a drive to succeed and focus on mission accomplishment. Traits that are key to any successful venture!
Chris now lives on an acreage near Fordyce with his wife, Sarah and son, Cody. The entire family enjoys the outdoors. They hunt, fish and camp together as much as possible.
